No one at Microsoft ever confirmed these sounds to be real and neither was there a reason to. There's no evidence to suggest that this sound was intended to be used with Longhorn.

They are some pretty high quality sounds, so maybe? Were they a part of Longhorn Reloaded perhaps?Īlso, I've seen some speculation that they did originate from MS, which I can sort of believe. Rumor has it that they date from 2003 or so. Where did they came from? And how did they get associated with Longhorn? I came across the fake Longhorn sounds again, and got curious.
